Support for Men Experiencing Abuse

Men reach out to us more often than people realize. Many come feeling scared, others need help in court, and some are simply looking for a space to talk about what’s happening at home. Abuse toward men is real, and you are not alone.

How We Support Men

Legal Help

Many men come to us for court advocacy. A legal advocate meets you when you arrive and stays with you through the whole process. They help with forms, talk with the court staff, and explain what is happening so you are not trying to figure it out by yourself.

Counseling

We also provide counseling for men who have suffered from domestic abuse. Sometimes it helps to talk with someone who understands how control, anger, and fear play out in a relationship. Many men tell us they kept quiet for a long time, not realizing how serious the situation had become. Counseling gives you a judgment-free space to sort through your unique challenges.

Our hotline is open to men day and night. You do not need a plan. You can call and talk, and we will listen.

What Abuse Can Look Like for Men

Men experience abuse in various ways, including but not limited to:

  • yelling and threats
  • damage to your belongings
  • being followed or watched
  • being hurt physically
  • pressure, guilt, or control
  • fear that things will get worse if you speak up

Unfortunately, abuse can happen in any relationship. Abuse is about control, not gender. Asking for help does not make you weak. It means you want things to change.

Taking the First Step

Men reach out in different ways. One call may be enough, or it may take several conversations before a next step feels clear. Either way is okay. When you’re ready, we will answer, listen, and help you think through what comes next.

If you need support, call the hotline. You deserve to feel safe, and we are here to help you get there.
