Leaving home can be hard, even when it’s the right thing to do. If you need a safe place right now, Brighter Tomorrows can help. Our emergency shelter gives people a place to stay while they figure out what comes next.
Emergency Shelter

What Our Shelter Offers
The shelter has private bedrooms for each person or family. There’s a kitchen, a living room, and staff here all the time. It’s secure, and everyone who stays here is treated with respect. You can come and go for work or school, take care of errands, and still have a safe place to return to.
When you first arrive, we focus on basic needs like a meal, clean clothes, rest, and giving you the time to settle in. After that, you’ll meet with a counselor or case manager to talk about what you might need next. Some people want help right away with housing, jobs, or legal issues. Others just need time to breathe. Both are okay.
Calling for Help
If you aren’t sure what to do, you can call our hotline anytime. Someone will pick up. You don’t have to know exactly what to say. We’ll listen and talk through your options. We can also help you make a plan if it isn’t safe to leave yet.
Sometimes planning means small things, such as keeping your ID in a safe spot, gathering medicines, or setting aside something your kids would want to bring. Those steps can make it easier when the time comes.
While You’re Here
Our staff helps residents connect with local programs, find work, and look for permanent housing. We can also help with school arrangements and transportation. Counseling is offered for adults and children, with staff available to help with practical needs and long-term goals. You decide which services to use. Some people take part in everything. Others just stay while they get back on their feet.
Taking the Next Step
Many people move from the shelter into our transitional housing program or into their own apartment. Some return to family or friends. However it goes, we stay involved until you’re in a safer, more stable place.
If you’re reading this and don’t feel safe at home, please call. You don’t need to be sure. You just need to talk to someone who understands what you’re going through.
